It is no secret that I love animals, and capturing their personalities through photography is my passion. That is why I created the Breed of the Month project, a way to celebrate and experience unique breeds right here in the Greater Edmonton area.

Each month, I will select a different breed to receive a complimentary on-location or studio pet photography session, along with a 5×7 matted print and a $250 print credit for a total value of $400.

This is a personal passion project inspired by my desire to photograph breeds I have never had the opportunity to work with before or have only encountered once or twice in my 26 years as a professional photographer. Some of the breeds I have in mind are quite rare in Alberta, and I know there is a chance I may not receive submissions for every one. But that is part of the adventure, and I cannot wait to see who steps in front of my lens.

February's Breed of the month is... the Border Terrier

Since watching Strays with Will Ferrell and Jamie Foxx, I have been completely obsessed with the Border Terrier. Sweet and spunky!

How It Works

If you see your pet’s breed pop up, simply sign them up for a chance to win! Each month, one lucky pet will receive a free one-hour on-location or studio photography session anywhere in the St. Albert area. Sessions can include other household pets and their people.

The winner will also receive a matted 5×7 print and a $250 credit toward additional prints or a digital collection.

Important Details

• Applications must be submitted by midnight on the last day of the month.
• The winner will be selected and contacted during the first week of the following month.
• On the first of each month, the featured breed will be announced.
