Maybe you're thinking about a portrait session with or for your dog, you might be concerned that they are wild and won't listen. That any sort of training or basic sit command will be ignored. Or worse, what if they pee in the studio. That one can bring some up some emotions... dread, embarrassment.
I hear these types of comments ALL the time! In your emails and on the phone. Then again when me meet for the session. You know what, I get it! I have those same feelings when I book a session for my own dogs with a professional. Or even when I show up to the vet and Molly squats on the door mat and pees 7 out of 10 times. I know she sometimes can't help it because 10 other dogs already peed there that day, but I am mortified every time. So, I really do get it.
Here is the thing, just like human kids, your dog can sometimes be over stimulated in a new situation. Maybe they are having trouble with focusing or just want to mark some spots around the studio. It happens. Please, don't feel embarrassment. It is what it is and we can't control everything. I can assure you, I will find ways to get even the most distracted dog to look great in a photograph. Distractions and accidents happen all the time.
One minute we are chatting about some ideas for the next part of the session and boom, your dogs poops on the floor. Don't worry about because I am not worried about it. We will just clean it up and move on. Shit happens!
