Normally, I strive to get everything right in camera, but sometimes things don't go as planned. You have to adapt and fix it later. For situations like this, where I anticipate extensive retouching, I make sure to capture extra shots of the background. This gives me the flexibility to bring my vision to life later in Photoshop. Above all, ensuring the subject's comfort always takes priority over capturing a perfect image.
In this case, Diesel—a very handsome bulldog—was a bit uncertain about the log he was on, so his dad stayed close by for moral support.
