As you know Spring in Alberta is not blossom filled and colorful.  Well not until that last quarter of it anyway.  But if you love the warm neutral tones of late autumn then spring is for you!  It ok that the trees are bare because there are still the golden brown grasses and soft greys of the tree trucks.  Background is just a small piece of the portrait.  The largest piece is the subject or subjects.  Their personality...their relationship. Don't let the lack of colour keep you from an outdoor spring session because neutral can be beautiful.
