I thought I would share a post and let you get to know me on a more personal level. You know, beyond the ABOUT section which is all professional and business like. It is also written mostly by someone who writes for a living. AKA not me!
So what can I tell you??? Hmmmm.
I have been living and working in St Albert since 2003. My business has been in my home, in a commercial space and then back into my home when I "retired" from weddings, newborns, maternity and boudoir. These days my studio work is limited to business, dogs and individuals/couples with dogs, cats, etc. You get what I am saying. Family groups are outdoors and seasonal.
2003...hmmm that's about 3k in business licensing fees. I hadn't really gave that much thought. That's the cost of a nice all inclusive week getaway for myself.
Speaking of getaways... I love to travel. I am one of those people that can't really chose a favorite place. Mountains, love them. Beaches, love them. Old European castles, love them. But I will admit beaches do often win the where should we go talks had between my husband and I. We aren't winter people at all!! Socall of the sun and the sand is the loudest.
We have 2 sweet rescue dogs. Molly (Shorkie) is about 14 years old this year and she will have her 12th Adoptaversary with us this October. She is getting to be quite the sassy pants in her old age. She has really put a demand on the treats. Haha. Charlie has been with us 8 years this December and will be about 9 years old. He is an interesting mix. According to his DNA test, he is a long haired Chihuahua crossed with Miniature Pinscher and unidentified sporting breed on the Min Pin side. He is quirky and has the most unique and beautiful coat. And like most other dogs living in a child free home, they are SPOILED! Haha and that is OK!
Reading! I love to read. Ya, movies are great too and I have power watched my share of Netflix shows but reading is number #1. I read about 100 books a year. Mostly crime fiction and some true crime as well as the odd fantasy/ historical fantasy. If I had to chose a new career I would write books. Not that I am skilled in writing but I do have quite an imagination. It would be fun to be immersed into a fictional world you created. If you are wondering how I manage to read that many books in a year it is because I take my Kindle everywhere. That way if I am waiting for an appointment I have something to do. 10 mins here and there adds up. It is also something I do in the evening or first thing in the morning before I start my day. Sometimes a great day off from work is just reading in the backyard.
Speaking of books, I have been thinking about doing a Tails of St Albert (title not set in stone) for a couple of years now. It would be a hardcover photobook featuring local dogs photographed in St Albert. I think this year might be the year to start. Tails if is a world collective with books from all areas of the world. They are done to raise funds for animal rescue as well be a "business card" for the photographer. Stay tuned for details.
That's all for now! I don't want to give it all away in one post. ;)
